Neon Abyss Room 404
Room 404 is the first game’s code room. It becomes available through the Office quest; buying code cards and entering an unlocked code are separate steps.
I would not open the console on a file I still want achievements on. The wiki is clear that the run is tainted for both achievements and bar progress.
Order of operations
The room is useless until cards are bought. An un-unlocked code does nothing.
- Complete Hades’ Assistant.
- Enter the 404 Room and find the Chief Engineer.
- Buy the card from the vending machine.
- Open the console and spend one faith gem.
Publisher-Documented Access and Platform Scope
Team17’s May 13, 2021 Steam/Epic update opens Hades’ Office after defeating Zeus or a superior Manager. Completing Hades’ quest then opens the Library, Room 404 and vending machine.
The August 15, 2022 Cornucopia announcement brings Call of Hades and subsequent PC content to PS4, Xbox One, Win 10 and Switch. This establishes the announced content scope, not a new test of every controller button or every code.
The historical wiki describes pause plus map for controllers and tilde for keyboard. A controller action name is not a verified platform-specific button combination. Use the in-game input display; no untested Xbox, Switch or PlayStation button symbols are supplied.
